Using the PowerShell Cmdlets

The SharePoint Cache Refresh Framework has a number of PowerShell cmdlets which allow you to add/remove and update the configuration of the cache configuration items.

Add-ITSPCacheConfigItem

Overview
Use this cmdlet to add a new item to Cache Configuration List.

Usage

Delete-ITSPCacheConfigItem

Overview
Use this cmdlet to remove items from the Cache Configuration List.

Usage
Delete-ITSPCacheConfigItem -Url [WebApplicationUrl] -CacheKey [Cache Key Name]

Update-ITSPCacheConfigTimerJobs

Overview
Use this cmdlet to rebuild the SharePoint timer jobs that perform the refresh of the cache. This should be used each time a cache config item has been added or removed.

This cmdlet, deletes and adds new timer jobs which have entries in the Cache Configuration List.

Usage
Update-ITSPCacheConfigTimerJobs -Url [WebApplicationUrl]
